GITANDO 2010 - THE ACCESSIBLE TOURISM FAIR

We are pleased to announce that Village for all, in collaboration with Vicenza Fair, will this year once again promote the “Gitando” exhibition, a leisure and outdoor tourism fair to be held from 25 to 28 March 2010. Gitando is an event aimed at Italian and foreign tourism operators and everyone in search of new ideas and stimulus for their holidays. It provides the very best that travel and outdoor tourism have to offer. Gitando hosts two themed exhibitions: gitando.all and gitando.mystery.

Gitando.mystery offers - in an interactive multimedia environment - the places, legends, symbols and mysteries of Veneto, aimed at a new and stimulating form of tourism in Veneto made of emotions, myths, enchantment and “secrets” from the seven provinces of this Italian region.

Gitando.all, is the first exhibition in Italy devoted to accessible tourism for all disabled persons. The event will be attended by exhibitors such as tour operators, campsites, amusement parks, theme parks, natural oases, rural tourism establishments and businesses dealing in outdoor tourism equipment (from camper vans to solar panels), etc.. There will also be interesting and entertaining competitions and sports demonstrations, with Olympic athletes and world champions (last year’s fair had the participation of Daniele Scarpa and Sandra Truccolo, for example) with an opportunity for participants to win a stay in one of Village for all’s member campsites. Entertaining educational performances will be held for children, featuring “Ernesto the magical master”, with the theme of friendship and racial integration. Two seminars will be held for high school pupils: one on accessible tourism and one on proper dietary habits. These activities are just a part of the programme, and there will be numerous opportunities for entertainment and socialisation. This event will be attended by some of the entities which support and sponsor Village for all: Fish (Italian Federation for Overcoming Disabilities) and Faita Federcamping; the Ministry for Tourism has also expressed an interest in taking part in the event.
